Libra is based in the delightful town of Ulverston, gateway to the Lake District Peninsulas, it is a shop well known for its crystals, gemstones, greetings cards and incense. Ulverston is itself an undiscovered gem, its ancient weekly Thursday market is still held on the cobbles of Market Street. Ulverston still retains many features from its wealthy Georgian past and boasts streets of independent retailers, many in old world premises. Surrounding the town there is glorious undiscovered countryside, with views of Morecambe Bay, moorland, misty mountains, ancient villages and churches. It is in this setting that Libra invites you to unwind with:-
Ann has been using her deep understanding of life balance and self help to promote Libra since 1995. The choice to base Libra in Ulverston was a natural one. The town has a strong spiritual and ethical core; the Quaker movement was developed here; it has long embraced fair trading and is a centre for practitioners of complementary therapies; there are early churches and pre-historic sites in the surrounding area.
Libra supports the fair trade ethic when it does not conflict with our animal friendly policy, many of the goods that have been selected by Ann, including those from local artists and artisans, are hand made and designed with love to bring peace and wonder into your life
